The Rides
Below is the current Summer Schedule. Our rides take us through the beautiful Wolds, The Vale of Pickering, The Yorkshire Moors, Dalby Forest and lots more. Most rides consist of between 4-12 riders. All the rides have a ride leader and nobody is left behind. You will find this a great way to learn about the local countryside and also get great tips from others as you ride.
What to do next?
Please have a look at type of rides currently run. Hopefully you would like to come along and try a ride out and meet some of the group. To do so please contact us so we can find out what you are looking for and get you set up on a ride. The first couple of rides are free, then we ask a small yearly membership fee of £20.
The Rides Levels
We have colour coded the weekly rides in a similar way mountain bike tracks are labelled. Hopefully this is an indication of the difficulty or fitness level needed. It is an indication and nothing more, so if you are not sure... Just ask!
Our Summer Weekly Ride Schedule
Sundays:
Sunday Pootlers
Pace: Casual bike rides at a gentle pace and a cafe stop.
Distance Covered: Typically between 20-30 miles.
Duration: About 3 Hours
Meet Time: About 9:30am, usually at Throxenby Mere.
Terrain: Road
Bikes used: Any bike
Road Bike Social
Pace: Social chatty rides at a steady pace and a cafe stop.
Distance Covered: Typically between 45-55 miles.
Duration: About 4-6 Hours
Meet Time: 8:30am, usually meet in the Rosette pub car park.
Terrain: Road
Bikes used: Road or Gravel
Road Bike Faster
Pace: Peloton type rides at a faster pace and a cafe stop.
Distance Covered: Typically between 50-65 miles.
Duration: About 4-5 Hours
Meet Time: 8:30am, usually meet in the Rosette pub car park
Terrain: Road
Bikes used: Road
Tuesdays:
Road Bike Social
Pace: Social chatty rides at a steady pace.
Distance Covered: Typically between 20-35 miles.
Duration: About 2-3 Hours
Meet Time: 6:30pm, usually meet outside Nags Head in Scalby.
Terrain: Road
Bikes used: Road or Gravel
MTB Semi Technical
Pace: Red route type rides at a social pace.
Distance Covered: Typically between up to 20 miles.
Duration: About 2-2.5 Hours
Meet Time: 6:15pm, from various locations such as Scalby, Ayton and Allerston.
Terrain: Off road, Red Route in difficulty, with a few connecting roads.
Bikes used: MTB, normal or electric.
Wednesdays:
Road Bike Hill Training
Pace: Hill training rides at a steady pace.
Distance Covered: Typically 20-25 miles.
Duration: About 2 Hours, depending on terrain and distance.
Meet Time: 8 or 8:30am, usually meet at Lady Editha Road.
Terrain: Road
Bikes used: Road or Gravel
Thursdays:
MTB Bike Social
Pace: Social chatty rides at a steady pace.
Distance Covered: Typically between 20-35 miles.
Duration: About 4-5 Hours
Meet Time: 9am, usually meet at Scalby Rugby Club Entrance.
Terrain: Road and gentle off Road
Bikes used: MTB, normal or electric.
MTB Faster
Pace: More technical rides at a faster pace, but will adjust to suit riders.
Distance Covered: Typically 15-35 miles.
Duration: About 2-3 Hours
Meet Time: 6:15pm, from various locations all local.
Terrain: Off road, ranging from Green to Black in difficulty, with a few connecting roads.
Bikes used: MTB, normal or electric.
Notes:
Ride times may change due to adverse weather or road conditions.
We also hold longer rides during the year, for example, our club 100 (miles).
We hold additional events including our overnight mountain bike ride.
